Ever since I was little, I've wanted to be a teacher. I remember lining up my dolls and stuffed animals and playing classroom. Growing up my mom was a Kindergarten teacher. I loved visiting her classroom and helping with her students.
As an undergraduate at Radford University, my love of teaching blossomed while working with preschool students at a local daycare center. I remember thinking "a jobs not so bad, I love what I do!".
Upon graduating, I took what was supposed to be just a summer job, at a private school in Leesburg. I ended up teaching at that school for four years. During that time, I only became more sure of my calling.
A student's parent shared with me the incredible need for special education teachers. Her encouragement inspired me to pursue my master's degree in Special Education from George Mason University.
My 18+ year career as an educator has taken me through Prince William and Frederick County Publics Schools. This is my 7th year teaching in Loudoun County Public Schools. I currently teach 3rd and 4th graders at an elementary school in my hometown.
I continue to be blessed by what I do.
